 Message from Chairman

Dear Parents,

Greetings, I am Eric Chng, Chairman of the Unity Parents Support Group (UPSG). As a parent, I came on board UPSG in Term 1 2004 as pioneer leader for the Project Ballpark – soccer. I do not have much expertise in soccer but I just love to play along with kids and believe in making more friends with the younger generation to stay young and healthy!  In 2005, I have taken on the role of Chairperson and continue to grow my interest in volunteering. I believe my involvement in school activities will build not only a good partnership with school,  it will also foster close bonding with my child as I would like to grow with my child in his 6 years of education in Unity Primary. Research has shown that children whose parents are actively involved in their schooling experiences demonstrate more positive attitudes and caring behavior towards their peers and achieve greater successes in their academic studies.

In Unity, the PSG serves with passion and also grows individually and as a group. We desire to strive and stand as one united team to achieve the school's vision, mission and goals. Our presence the school has proved to be beneficial and striving towards a win-win partnership for staff, parents and students.

My thought in volunteerism is this - you do not need to be 100% committed or always be there, you just do your best to set aside time to support your child and other children in Unity Primary.  I believe we can do it.  You can be flexible in rendering your support in terms of time, effort or be our sponsor. One of our main key of success is Flexible.

I am very confident with you coming on board as part of UPSG. We will definitely contribute to the success of Unity Primary, moving from good to great to and being the Best in the WEST. Cheers!!!
